My research examines strategic decision-making in international security. I focus on two key drivers:
- Domestic Politics that shape foreign policy, which I analyze in my dissertation on public opinion and audience costs. (My survey experiment is supported by the Institute of Humane Studies at George Mason University.) In my MA thesis, I focused on leaders in FPA.
- The Geopolitical Impact of Emerging Technologies, such as AI and semiconductors, which I explore in my published work.
Methodologically, I employ computational methods, particularly text analysis, in conjunction with quantitative and experimental approaches. I am an alumnus of the ICPSR Summer Program in Quantitative Methods, organized by the University of Michigan, and the Summer Institute in Computational Social Science - Istanbul and Hertie School Data Science Lab, Data Science Summer School in Germany.
My work has been published or is forthcoming in International Political Science Review, International Relations, and edited volumes from Routledge and Wiley. I have also contributed policy analysis on regional energy security and conflict dynamics for think tanks and research institutions.
I have also reviewed articles for Political Research Quarterly, Global Studies Quarterly, and International Politics.
I am a Ph.D. student at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where I am a recipient of the UWM Chancellor's Award. I hold M.A. and B.A. degrees in International Relations from Bilkent University in Turkey.
